Holly Pond K-8 School

🚨Traffic Plan 🚨 April 16th and 17th Unfortunately the road in front of the elementary and high school (New Hope Road) will be closed April 16th, 17th, and possibly 18th. A contractor from Tennessee will be replacing the culvert under the road where the buses pull out. - The elementary drop off and pick up traffic will have to enter the car rider line via Brooklyn Road and use Holly Pond School Road that runs by the playground. -In order to keep our students safe and limit the amount of traffic on our elementary campus, we will open the doors for drop off starting at 7:15. Please do not drop your child off anywhere other than the car rider line. We will stagger our dismissal times. -Kindergarten car rider students will be dismised at 2:30. First and second grade car rider students will be dismissed at 2:45. Third through fifth grade car rider students will be dismissed at 3:00. If you have more than one elementary child to pick up, please come at the pick up time for the oldest child. -The middle school drop off procedure will remain the same as normal for both morning and afternoon. -Bus riders will be supervised as they unload the buses as always. Bus riders will be walked by classroom teachers to load the buses as always. -Check-in and check-out procedures will stay the same in the K-5 and 6-8 building, but please refrain from checking students out in the K-5 building after 2:00 pm if possible to help with traffic flow. We will have Kona Ice on campus for K-5 students this Friday and FRIOS on campus for students in grades 6-8. The prices for Kona Ice are listed on the attached picture, and FRIOS is $5 a popsicle.

We will be having athletic physicals here at Holly Pond on May 10th for $20. You will need to bring the money that day, but can pick up a form in the office the week before May 10th.

We are very excited to announce that we are developing an outdoor classroom here at Holly Pond K-8! We have partnered with the Alabama Wildlife Federation's Outdoor Classroom Program and are thrilled about this opportunity for our students. However, we need volunteers for next Tuesday and Wednesday to assist on our build day. If you are able to help out, then please see the sign up form below. We also need around 30 more empty/clean gallon jugs for our build day. If you have any of these we would be happy to take those off your hands! You can drop these off at the elementary office. Our 7th and 8th grade guys had opening day for their junior high baseball season yesterday! Good luck this season! ⚾️

We Build it Better students enjoyed designing and presenting their electric vehicles in our roadshow. Way to go participants!

Bronco Brag 🐴 Help us congratulate Jaxson on recieving a "Bronco Brag"! He took initiative during Resource time and helped students with their Math Edmentum. He demonstrated patience and kindness and treated students with respect and dignity. Jaxson is always looking to help out and we are proud of his leadership!

Bronco Brag 🐴 Help us congratulate Brayden on receiving a "Bronco Bag"! We had a new student enroll and without hesitation Brayden stepped up to help him out. He is eager to help others and has done this repeatedly throughout the year. Great job being a leader Brayden!

We enjoyed having our board member join us yesterday for our monthly faculty luncheon. January is board member appreciation month and we truly appreciate all Mr. Allbright does for Holly Pond!

The 7th graders have recently been working on learning the components of argumentative writing. Mrs. Atwood's class also held a class debate and the teams had to defend their position on a topic. Great job 7th grade!
