⭐STAFF SPOTLIGHT⭐ Meet Mrs. Hawkins! How many years have you worked at Holly Pond? - This is my 20th year teaching and my 19th year at Holly Pond. Favorite Food- Grilled Chicken with southern white sauce Favorite Movie- Steel Magnolias Favorite Quote- Erma Bombeck: "When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, 'I used everything He gave me'." Interesting Fact- I try to read at least three picture books and one chapter book every week so I can recommend books to our students. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?- Most definitely, The Holy Land. What do you enjoy most about working in an elementary school? I enjoy talking to students and sharing my love of reading with them. It is so rewarding to see their eyes light up and their joyous grins when they realize they "got it"! I want our students to know that being a proficient reader can totally change the course of their life and open the door to any profession. I want all of our students to experience the joy of learning and to know they are loved beyond measure! Thank you for all of your service at Holly Pond! We are very appreciative of you and glad you are on our team!

Middle School SGA is selling sweatshirts for $25 ($27 for 2XL and 3XL), and the deadline is next Friday (November 11). We can do sizes YS - 3XL. ⭐STAFF SPOTLIGHT⭐ Meet Coach Kelley! How many years have you worked at Holly Pond? -This is year 6. Favorite Food- Filet Mignon, Loaded Baked Potato, Bread, with a Salad. Favorite Movie- Top Gun: Maverick Favorite Quote- For I know the plans I have for you, “declares the LORD,” plans to prosperyou and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 Interesting Fact- I like to cook and make new recipes. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?- I would like to do an Alaskan Cruise and excursions. What do you enjoy most about working in an elementary school? Trying to be a positive influence or the next generation. Thank you for your positive influence on our students! We appreciate you!

Check this out! While learning about simple machines, Jackson built a working clock. He was able to calibrate the clock to make a one minute timer. By experimenting with the weight on the pendulum, he was able to change the speed due to the amount of energy needed for it to swing back and forth. Jackson found the position where the pointer takes 60 seconds to make a full revolution around the dial. Great job Jackson!

The Veterans Day program will be held at Holly Pond School this Thursday. We will have breakfast for Veterans at 8am in the Old/Middle School Gym and the Veterans Day Program will follow at 9am in the Felton Easterwood Gym.

Interesting Fact- I still enjoy running half marathons with my boys. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?- Alaska What do you enjoy most about working in an elementary school? I am so grateful to have the opportunity to mold and shape young minds. Such a ministry! Thank you for everything you do at Holly Pond. We are so glad to have you at our school!

🚨 Re-make Picture Day 🚨 Re-make picture day will be next Monday, November 7th. This will be for students who were absent on 8/26/22 when we originally had school pictures. These are the pictures that will be in the yearbook.

Edouard Ndecky spoke to Holly Pond K-12 students and he was able to share his story of how a gift from Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child changed the course of his life. The shoebox he received included ordinary household items and small toys. Students learned that lives can be changed by serving others. Holly pond will be shipping shoe boxes with the items students donate. We are accepting any new, unused household items or toys. We will send the shoeboxes to students in need as we approach Christmas time. Check out the list below of items that are needed. Thank you for anything that is donated! We will take donations until November 10th.

Bronco Brag 🐴 Harper recieved a bronco brag for being a very responsible Kindergarten student! She has been a great leader in her classroom! Harper is always participating and making good choices. We are so proud of her effort. Congratulations Harper!

Bronco Brag 🐴 Rylee received a bronco brag for his great behavior in first grade. He has been on his very best behavior in the classroom, lunchroom and the hallways. We are very proud of how well he is following the rules and listening. Great job Rylee!

Bronco Brag 🐴 Help us congratulate Collins on her recognition for a bronco brag! Collins was eager to help clean up the lunch table without being asked to do so. She has been caught cleaning up several times and is a great second grade leader. Great job Collins!

Bronco Brag 🐴 Congratulations to Camden on his bronco brag referral! Camden has not only been behaving great in class, but he has also been caught multiple times sweeping the hallways of the middle school building. This shows strong character, responsibility, and respect for his school! We are proud of you Camden! Keep it up!

⭐STAFF SPOTLIGHT⭐ Meet Mr. Kusz! How many years have you worked at Holly Pond? – This is my 14th year at Holly Pond. Favorite Food- Chinese Favorite Movie- Tombstone/Citizen Kane Favorite Quote- “It’s perfect running weather!” Interesting Fact- The human brain is actually 60% fat…I believe my percentage is twice that. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?- I would like to go to the Yangtze River in the Tanggula Mountains of China and take a boat down all 3900 miles until I reach the Yellow Sea. What do you enjoy most about working in an elementary school? I enjoy knowing what a positive influence we, as teachers, can be to our children/students. We have been entrusted with these wonderful students at the most impressionable time in their lives and despite all the negative things/news we often hear about on a daily basis, we have the power to change the way our students look at this world. Thank you for all that you do for our students and athletes at Holly Pond! We are thankful you are on our team!

Holly Pond Town Hall will be hosting a drive through trunk or treat at the Dane Estes Park today from 5:00- 7:00 pm. Please make sure to enter off of 278 exit onto Brooklyn Road.

Red Ribbon week started today and our students were encouraged to dress as their Cullman County family color. The family "Integrity" started the morning by having a few middle school aged students greet some of the younger elementary students who are in their family. We are proud of the connection our families are making across different grade levels!
