Meet Mrs. Henderson!
How many years have you worked at Holly Pond? -This is my 2nd year back at HP. I was the PE aide with Mrs. Williams, for three years, before I got my first teaching job.
Favorite Food- Pizza
Favorite Movie- I don't actually have a favorite movie, but my kids and I love Sing 2 right now!
Favorite Quote- God is Good all the tIme, and all the time God is Good!
Interesting Fact- Growing up my family was a Fairview/Holly Pond house divided! I graduated from Fairview, my dad taught Ag here at Holly Pond and my brother is a Holly Pond graduate.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?- I would love to go to Montana.
What do you enjoy most about working in an elementary school? I have always loved working with kids. I especially love the younger kids! From their very first day of school to the end, it amazes me how quickly they learn. We get to have fun while learning and they keep me laughing!

Bronco Brag 🐴
Help us congratulate Parker on her "Bronco Brag"! She shows tremendous pride in her own classwork and our school. She maintains high grades, shows leadership, and was spotted several times cleaning up the school campus. Great job Parker, keep it up!


We would like to thank Mayor Carla Hart and the town council for their generous donation to our school. They truly make a difference for our students and staff. We are extremely grateful for their support!

Holly Pond K-8 will celebrate basketball homecoming along with the high school next week! The dress up days are listed below, but there are a couple of motifications for K-5.
Modifications:
Tuesday: K-5 dress up day- Soccer Player
Friday: K-5 dress up day- School Spirit (6-8 will participate in "anything but a backpack" day)

How many years have you worked at Holly Pond? - 5 years

Interesting Fact- I started teaching first grade in Mrs. Quick's old classroom in the beginning of my career. My students think it's crazy that now I'm the teacher in the very same room where I was a first grade student years ago!
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?- I spent the summer of 2017 in South Africa and Swaziland (Eswatini now), and I would absolutely love the chance to travel back to those beautiful places and to see my friends there again someday.
What do you enjoy most about working in an elementary school? My students are definitely what I love most about working here. They grow and learn so much in first grade, and they remind me to laugh about the little things every day. I'm also very thankful for my coworkers and the love and friendship we share!

Bronco Brag 🐴
Congratulations to Abby, Alannah, and Nettie for receiving a “Bronco Brag”. They are great about helping pick up the hallway after break and take a lot of pride in keeping our school clean. Keep up the good work girls!

How many years have you worked at Holly Pond? I taught for 32 years and retired. I’ve had the privilege of working part-time as Secretary for the last 6 years.
Favorite Food- Shrimp
Favorite Movie- I don’t really have a favorite movie but I love mystery books and movies.
Favorite Quote- “Anyone who does anything to help a child in his life is a hero” Fred Rogers
Interesting Fact- I was detained by armed security in a South Korean airport on a trip to Guam.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?- I would love to visit Alaska and of course anywhere my sons are living.
What do you enjoy most about working in an elementary school? It is such an amazing mission field where you have the opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life.

Bronco Brag 🐴
Help us congratulate Enrike on his Bronco Brag! He stayed after three days this week to pick up trash in the lunchroom. We are proud of the leadership and positive example he shows to other students. Great job Enrike!


In the “We Build It Better” classes students learned how to fasten two materials together with different types of fasteners and different types of tools. Great job!





HP K-8 would like to thank Sheriff Gentry and the Cullman Sheriff Office for hosting our students at the Sheriff's Rodeo today. Our kids came back so excited and said they had a blast! Thanks for organzing this special event. The rodeo will be held both Friday and Saturday this weekend. Gates open at 5 pm and the rodeo will begin at 7:30 pm.

A blood drive will be held at Holly Pond School tomorrow, December 6th. It is from 8 am- 2 pm in the Middle School Gym (Old Gym).


The Holly Pond Elementary Christmas Choir concert will be December 16th
during school at 9 am. The concert will be held in the old gym.

What do you enjoy most about working in a K- 8 school?
There is no other joy than hearing "Mrs. Carter" in a public place and turning to see a little hand waving as hard as it can and it's even better when it is accompanied by a hug!

🌲 Holly Pond's Christmas in the Park 🌲
Governor's Park / Dec. 3rd / 5:30-8pm
Many exciting events will be happening throughout the night. There will be a Christmas tree lighting, Santa Claus sightings, and a performance from the Holly Pond High School Band and the elementary choir. There will also be four food trucks on site.
The elementary choir will perform at 5:30!
Beautiful luminaries will line the park as you look at the Christmas Cards made by our community. If you would like to purchase luminaries for your loved ones, most HP businesses are selling them for $1 each. We hope to see you there!


Coach Glasscock, Coach Hartline, and the Holly Pond Varsity basketball teams invite all Holly Pond youth basketball players to come cheer on the Broncos for youth night on December 8th.
**Any player who wears his or her youth jersey to the games will get in free with a paying adult.
**6th Grade Girls will be recognized at halftime of the varsity girls game. 6th Grade Boys will be recognized at halftime of the varsity boys game.
